Every piece of video content begins with a good idea. The is the most important stage of the video making process. As a team we talk ideas every day. It’s the lifeblood of the video content making industry. We’ll always do this with you – no matter the size of the project. Once we have a shortlist of ideas that we like we’ll begin to road test these using different techniques to bring them to life.
Storyboards are really useful to help us to identify shot sizes, styles, and camera movements. They help us to work through the movement order of a film, working out how one shot or scene connects or transitions to the following one. We have a range of storyboarding artists who specialise in this work for video.
Mood boards can help stimulate a discussion around the visual treatment for your video content. They are an affordable way of working out the look and feel of your video and can help trigger the creative direction for other things like locations, costume, casting etc.
If your video has dialogue or includes interviews a strong script is essential to the success of your finished video. It’s really worth investing in this before filming to ensure you maximise the strengths of your contributors and so the messaging in your video is clear.
We can turn your brief into a script working with one of our writers or we can co-write the script with you to ensure that we include everything that is required. We often work with a script and a storyboard together.
Some ideas benefit from shooting or cutting a pre-visualisation video before we go into production. This can be a simple frame to frame storyboard edited like a video to show you the creative progression of the proposed video or it could be test footage cut together roughly to help us decide if something will work. We often cut previsulations when we’re proposing an animation or motion graphics idea/style.
