Glasgow based production company Urbancroft Films are currently seeking applicants for the full time position of Post Production Technician.

Hours:                                 40 hours per week (full time)

Holidays:                             28 days per annum (inc public holidays)

Location:                             Film City Glasgow – Govan

Salary:                                  £18300.00 (Year 1)

The Position:

We have a vacancy for a Post Production Technician. This role will involve all aspects of post production for our projects. You will work alone and alongside other team members to edit our films, create motion graphics, colour grade and handle audio post production for our productions. You will also lead on digital marketing tasks for the company and facilitate post production training/workshops with community groups across the UK.

The successful candidate must be happy to turn their hand to a wide variety of tasks. Good computer skills, accuracy and an ability to get on with people at all levels are essential. Candidates must be able to work under pressure and manage deadlines.

Successful candidates will be working in a team as part of a busy and sometimes out of normal business hours schedule. Evening, weekend and late night shifts will be required.

Requirements:

Essential

Eligible to work within the UK

Valid UK driving licence

Must be able to provide online links to excellent showreel/examples of previous work in application

Must have experience using the following software:

Adobe Creative Suite – Premiere, After Effects, Indesign, Photoshop, Audition, Illustrator

Magic Bullet/Da Vince Resolve

Final Cut Pro X

WordPress

Ablility to work unsupervised for long periods of time

Good phone manner

Must be able to work alone and as part of a strong team

Organised, well presented and punctual

Must have a high level of attention to detail

Strong administrative skills

Must meet criteria of the Glasgow Guarantee (see below)

Desirable

University degree in relevant subject

Experience of working in the creative industries

Understanding of how to storyboard and create treatments

Some shooting experience

Duties:

Editing

Motion graphics/animation creation

Colour Grading

Compositing

Preparing deliverables for client

DVD Duplication

Managing post production workflows

Management of back up and archiving systems

On location editing/DIT work

Administering paper based deliverables

Liaising directly with our clients

Management of social media platforms and website

Supporting Company Producer & team with marketing materials and activity

Supporting production team

Facilitation of editing workshops/training for a range of groups/individuals

Representation of company at public events, talks, seminars, screenings

Festival submissions

Any other duties as required

Recruitment Process

Stage 1 – Interview – Urbancroft Films will select up to x 4 candidates for interview

Stage 2 – Trial exercise – Up to x 2 candidates will be asked to participate in a post production trial at Film City Glasgow for up to 2 hours. Reasonable expenses will be covered on the day.

Stage 3 – Successful candidates – will be informed – shortlisted unsuccessful candidates will be given the opportunity to be added to our pool of freelance post production technicians
